Full Holidays
Day One
On day one we will visit Velika planina which is Slovenia’s largest highland pasture and the most preserved pasture in Europe. Offering breathtaking views of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps and the Ljubljana basin accompanied by a well preserved herdsman’s heritage.
Later we will continue to Lake Bled and the Magical forest where the sparkling blue lake is situated amidst the backdrop of the rolling hills and has an enchanting island with an old church on it.
Day Two
and Three
The second day has so much to offer that we have decided to exted it to day three as well. The Julian Alps have a grievous history, having been the battle ground for much of the World War I mountain fights. This is where Ernest Hemingway, while volunteering with the Red Cross, was prompted to pen his famous Farewell to Arms. Through an expansive collection of photographs, text and film, the Kobarid Museum details the warfare that took place in the treacherous terrain, where Austro-Hungarian forces clashed with Italian ones. These mountains also helped save lives.
Along the banks of the river Soca is where the most beautiful metal festival in Europe was born.
This region was graced with roaring waterfalls, sprawling green meadows, glaciers and traditional colorfully painted apiaries where delicious honey is made. In this region, you can also find one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Europe, located at the altitude of 2055 meters. Driving on it is an unforgettable experience. During the ride, you can enjoy the magnificent views of its surroundings. The Soca river offers activities such as canyoning, kayaking, rafting and more. For those who prefer admiring nature's beauty, waterfalls and the gorge of the river Soca will leave you breathless.
Day Four
Ljubljana - the capital you can’t not love. With its colorful buildings, wide streets, outdoor cafes and willow-draped riverbanks, Ljubljana is easily one of the prettiest cities you will ever visit. Sure it’s not perfect, but it’s that lack of complete perfection that makes it so beautiful.
Day Five
The Postojna Cave. Some of the most spectacular sites in Slovenia are located underground. The Postojna Cave is the largest and most spectacular cave in the world with its own subway. The limestone chambers are home to mystifying species such as the human (dragon) fish, which actually lives nearly as long as humans, dwells almost entirely in water, and can go up to eight years without food.
The Medieval Castle in Predjama (Cave Village) is an idyllic village where you will be amazed by a fairy-tale medieval castle with a dramatic setting in the gaping mouth of cavern halfway up a hillside.
